More Then Just An Honor
amidst my pile of email this am i got one from covenant house - it's a sanctuary shelter for homeless and runaway teenage kids up to 21 .. i was a resident on a number of occasions at a number of locations back in the late 80's & early 90's .. they saved and changed my life, both for the better .. i can go on an on w/stories about cov, but won't for now .. anyway ...
.. apparently the sister who currently runs cov had the opportunity to present pope benedict w/offerings when he was here, such an honor .. here's the video, it's such an honor to know she went in front of him representing us all, myself included .. brought tears to my eyes, still does .. check it out
by no means am i a religious person .. in fact, i don't believe in any of this religious bullshit, i think it's all a huge hoax in search of money and there's no such thing as " god " or any of that crap .. what i do believe in is the fact that cov was there when i needed them, and when other kids needed them .. and i have alot of respect for them and all that they did, and still do, for us ..
fine, they're a religious organization, but it doesn't mean i have to believe in that crap to respect and appreciate what they have done for me and continue to do for others ..
