if you had some garlic, and an onion, could ya hybred them into a single plant and call 'em garions ? or onlic ?
... i just really like the taste of them both

on our way back home from nj hubby & i stopped at some mom & pop resturant to eat. we were there for breakfast and there was absolutely no one else in sight.
they had this thing on the menu called " scrapple " .. so, of course, i had to ask .. what's scrapple ? ends up "scrapple" is the scraps from the fry top where they make the eggs, bacon, sausage, etc ...

ok, i know what y'all are thinking, cuz i thought the same .. GROOOOSSSS !

of course my curiosity got the best of me and i just had to try it .. ended up being ok i guess .. not something i would order again, but not quite as gross as i thought it might be. it looked like a hashbrown and had that nasty sausage color about it ..

.. but one good thing did come out of it all .. they had these trinkets & crap all over the place for sale, just like cracker barrel ..
.. among all the stuff htey were selling were some moose .. there was one on the window sill where we sat and being as it's a moose, i just HAD to have it !

so, long story short, i got it, and even got another one .. couldn't resist, they were sooo cute .. and again, they were moose ! love my moose  =)

here they are .. i named one "penn" ( cuz we got 'em in pennsylvania ) and the other "scrapple" ( i think that name is self explanitory )  ..

wouldn't ya know it, i'm so wrapped up in here reading et al that i completely forgot i was cooking dinner ..

well, for the most part it's ok, i only started boiling the potatoes ..
.. and then forgot about them ..

.. until i smelled them burning ..

i have the windows open so when i first started smelling it i thought it coming from outside .. and i'm thinking to myself, ' the neighbors must be bbq'ing, sounds like a good idea ' ..

.. until i realized  i was the grilling neighbor ! ..

.. that smell was my potatoes burning in the pot that had no water left in it .. at all
i threw some water in it to cool it down, so i have yet to assess the damage to the pot

worst thing about this is, this isn't the first time i've done this .. i was boiling water one day for whatever reason i need it for, and sure as shit, i totally forgot about it ..

hubby's due home anytime now .. i'm sure i'll never live this one down

This little home cooked italian place in cape coral florida they call ' rosie's diner ' aka mom's house

Did anyone ever have, or at least remember, the department store Sears's mac & cheese they served in their cafe ? 

Note to self: canned asparagus is nasty as hell, especially when it's a no name brand bought at Aldi's ... yuuuck !!!
